In Electronics and Computer Science (ECS), we have created an environment that has inspired an extraordinary level of achievement. We seek to develop new research activities and educational programmes to continue our contributions to science and engineering in a world facing significant challenges.

Our research explores the interface between electronics and computer science, and benefits significantly from interdisciplinary links with other schools, institutes and faculties.

Our school

Our history dates from 1947, when Professor Eric Zepler founded the Department of Electronics, Telecommunications and Radio Engineering.
Explore everything we do, from taught courses and research, to news, events and policies.
With around 250 staff, ECS has unrivalled depth and breadth of expertise in world-leading research, new developments and their applications. Our innovation and creativity make ECS a great place for our students to thrive.
