Graduate Software Engineer

We are looking for ambitious final year students to join our software engineering team in September 2016. Your role will be to create innovative products that our customers will love, and you will contribute actively to the design and architecture of the products that you work on. You will learn a huge number of new skills at Telsis. While we work primarily in Java (80%), with a small amount of C (20%), it really doesn’t end there. We’ll give you the chance to explore and learn the latest languages, technologies, frameworks, coding techniques and tools. That’s because you’ll be at the forefront of communications technology and you’ll need to be using the right tool for the right job.

We also want to help you launch your successful career in the technology industry. You will see your work being taken into service with our customers – leading network operators - very quickly. Customers around the world will directly benefit from the work you do every time they pull out their phone.

Our team is a friendly and informal bunch of people. We like to work together not hide away in boxed cubicles. If you thrive in a deeply technical environment, are willing to help others out and willing to stretch yourself technically, we want to talk to you. We pride ourselves on being a “flat” organisation where you can learn quickly and your progress can see you rapidly rise up the pay scale. We will evaluate you on merit, just as we do everyone else.

Ideally, you need to have a degree in computer science, physics, maths or engineering. You need to have experience of Java or C; Linux experience is ideal but not required. Most importantly, you need to have a passion for technology, especially if you code in your spare time and love it as a hobby.

We also offer an attractive private healthcare plan, gym membership and a pension plan.

How to apply and what to expect

To apply, send your CV to Chris Mead (Head of Engineering) at christopher.mead@telsis.com or fill out the online form at http://www.telsis.com/grad-careers.asp - it only takes a minute.

We will aim get back to all applications within five working days. The selection process will consist of a telephone interview, online programming test and an in-person technical interview at our offices in Fareham (we will cover your travel expenses to our offices from anywhere in England, Wales and Scotland). If you are successful, we will aim to make a formal offer within three working days of the interview.

Graduate engineers typically start at Telsis in September; however, if after a successful interview and job offer you would like to start earlier, then you are very welcome to.
